Could I Be a Hafidh?
A Heart-warming Introduction to the Journey of Memorising the Quran

Author: Dr Amina Paracha
Illustrator: Salma Azhar
Publisher: Little Hoopoe Books

Could I Be a Hafidh? is a beautifully written picture book that gently introduces both boys and girls to the noble path of becoming a Hafidh—someone who memorises the entire Quran.

Told through a warm conversation between a parent and child, this uplifting story helps young readers understand:

  • What it truly means to be a Hafidh – both spiritually and practically
  • How they can begin memorising the Quran – with sincere intentions, small daily steps, and trust in Allah
  • The incredible rewards promised by Allah – for each verse learned and for those who dedicate themselves to His words

Children are gently shown that becoming a Hafidh isn’t just for a select few—it’s something every child can aspire to, with patience, love, and dua. The book offers hope, encouragement, and a clear sense of purpose for young hearts ready to begin this life-changing journey.

Printed as a high-quality 8.5" x 8.5", this book features vivid illustrations and thick, durable pages—ideal for story-time, classrooms, or as a treasured gift.

Perfect For:

  • Muslim families encouraging Quran memorisation
  • Madrasah or Islamic school teachers
  • Boys and girls aged 3–7 beginning their Hifdh journey
  • Hifdh milestones, Quran class rewards, or Eid gifts
  • Bedtime stories with spiritual value and lasting inspiration

Inspire Their Intentions, One Verse at a Time

Could I Be a Hafidh? is more than just a story—it’s an invitation to dream big, start small, and place trust in Allah’s promise. With every page, your child will be reminded that becoming a Hafidh is a journey worth taking—and it could start today.

Why I Wrote this Book? I wrote this book because I wanted children to know the what, the how, and the why of Qur’an memorisation. This book was one of the first children’s books on hifdh and is still one of the most captivating in its illustrations and simple language. There is a child in the world right now beginning their journey, and a child with the potential in every home, and this book is for that child, so they can see themselves in the story and the pictures, and know the beautiful reward waiting for them and their parents, insha’Allah.
