About Us
Little Hoopoe Books is an independent imprint founded by Dr Amina Paracha. It publishes children’s books that are faith-filled, thoughtful, and meaningful. Each book is meticulously written and thoroughly researched, combining Dr Amina’s expertise in medicine and Islamic studies to create stories with layers of lessons and deeper meaning. There is a real science to the storytelling, designed to engage children while also leaving a lasting impact.
The name Little Hoopoe is inspired by the story of Prophet Sulayman (peace be upon him) and the hoopoe bird, who delivered the message of faith to Queen Sheba. In the same way, the stories published by Little Hoopoe Books are messages, and the children who read them are the little hoopoes, carrying these messages forward for generations to come.
Little Hoopoe Books creates stories that are joyful, thoughtful, and layered, designed for children to return to again and again, discovering something new each time. Its books are legacy-building and become part of children’s mementoes, evoking the beauty and nostalgia of Islamic teachings. They are a meaningful way to bring Islam into daily life, helping children connect with their faith through stories.
We hope you enjoy each story, and that every book inspires curiosity, reflection, and a love for learning in your children.
